Bored of the selection of food you see on your apps? Craving for something but realise that they can’t deliver to your place? Well, we have the solution to your problems!
Introducing Discover Food, where we have curated over 100 F&B outlets including your faves from hawker stalls, cafes and hotels. The best thing is we don’t charge any service fees (so hawkers get 100% of the earnings), plus they all offer islandwide delivery 👍
But if 100 outlets seems a bit too daunting for you to choose from, we’ve narrowed down to our top 3 choices:
I think this cafe needs no introduction at all! Loved by many for their Aussie-esque cafe and wholesome Western food, The Lokal will surely leave you wanting more!
I ordered the Spicy Roast Chicken Salad and let me tell you that it did not disappoint in any way. I’ve always been a huge fan of soba noodles but pair it with mint, fermented sriracha and coriander and you have a winning dish over here. In addition to their regular menu, they’ve also added in a Weekly Specials menu and a Pilsner Urquell bundle too, but be sure to send in your order in advance on Whatsapp to +65 64239918!
Hiang Lee Chicken Rice
No food list is complete without our local favourite: CHICKEN RICE. Based in Boon Lay Place Food Village and famous for being affordable and for their homemade chili and fragrant herbal soup, Hiang Lee’s chicken rice is a must-try and will surely keep your tummy extremely satisfied. Other fan favourites include their roasted duck noodles which have been certified #juicy.
If you’re a huge fan of chicken rice, you definitely have to try out their roasted chicken rice set!
Craving some good ol’ fashion Dim Sum? Searching for something sweet for that insatiable sweet tooth of yours? Don’t worry, Carlton City Hotel has them all.
Enjoy the steaming hot Dim Sum selection from the Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant (we highly recommend the Steamed Barbecued Pork Bun and Baked Barbecued Pork Bun (otherwise locally known as Char Siew Bao). Apart from some yummy Dim Sum, Carlton City Hotel also offers their Western selection from Cafe Mosaic where you can enjoy Vegetarian options as well as local delights like Nasi Goreng Istimewa and Hor Fun.
As for desserts (we always have room for it), why not get some cakes from Tuxedo? You have to order them two days in advance but trust us when we say that it’s totally worth the wait. If you’re a huge durian fan, you have to try out the Durian Mochi (order it 3 days in advance!). If you can’t wait too long for something sweet, no worries, they also offer pastries right from their bakery and single sliced cakes from their Sweet Treats menu!
